DET Tigers vs CLE Indians

The Detroit Tigers will head to Progressive Field for the 2nd match of this 3-game series against the Cleveland Indians after winning the opener yesterday 4-2. Even though the score between the two teams this season is 7-7, the one with recent success is Detroit who has won the last five in a row. Detroit is now leading the AL Central with 79-62, going on a 4-game winning streak with only 1 loss in their last 7. They will bring up righty Rick Porcello, 12-8, 5.01 ERA who last time came out with a ND against the Royals, giving up 4 runs on 8 hits in 7.0 innings. He is 4-1, 5.01 ERA when pitching against the Indians. Cleveland on the other hand is 70-68, 2nd in the AL Central, winning just 2 of their last 5. The starting pitcher for the home side will be right-hander Fausto Carmona, 6-13, 4.84 ERA, now on a 3-game winning drought, last time giving up 3 runs on 8 hits in 6.0 innings against the A`s. He has met the Tigers a couple of times turning up with 8-5, 3.50 ERA. Detroit is now just without Brennan Boesch in the batting part of the roster, while for the Indians, Michael Brantley, Shin-Soo Choo,  Travis Hafner, Trevor Crowe, Jason Kipnis and Jack Hannahan will be out. This will be the first time this season that this pitching match-up will take place and in my oppinion with the offensive power that Cleveland is showing right now, yesterday again they couldn`t back up their starter, this time Ubaldo who only gave up 3 runs in 7.0 innings (+1 J. Smith), the Indians scoring only 2 runs on 4 hits. With these important facts in mind, Tigers winning the last five against Cleveland, the home side being without some important players in the line-up/roster and Indians having problems backing up their pitchers, I think this is a chance for Detroit to hit 80 wins.
